What is Goal area (6-metre zone) in Handball?

The D-shaped zone in front of each goal, bounded by a line 6 metres out, that only the goalkeeper may occupy. Attackers may jump in from above it if they release the ball before landing, which is what makes diving wing and pivot shots legal.
