What is Patch in Esports?
A publisher-issued update that changes a game's balance, characters, maps or systems. Tournaments lock a specific patch in advance so every team competes on identical rules — a mid-season patch can upend team strength overnight.
Example: Worlds was played on the same patch as the final league week.
