What is Spare in Bowling?

Clearing all ten pins using both rolls of a frame. Traditionally scores 10 plus the next roll; under World Bowling scoring, 10 plus the same frame's first roll. 'Spare shooting' — reliably converting single-pin leaves — is the sport's free-throw skill.

Example: He missed two single-pin spares and lost the title match by four.
