What is Pocket in Bowling?

The gap between the 1 and 3 pins (right-handers) or 1 and 2 pins (left-handers) — the target zone for strike shots. Pocket hits at a good angle chain the pins into each other; the strike percentage of pocket hits is what 'carry' measures.
