What is At-bat in Baseball?

A batter's turn against the pitcher that ends in a hit, an out, or reaching base on an error or fielder's choice. Walks, hit-by-pitches and sacrifices don't count as official at-bats, which matters for calculating batting average.

Example: He went 2-for-4 — two hits in four at-bats.
